Through the mixed media installation N33° 54' - E35° 28', Farrell offers an immersive portrayal of the sea in wintertime, transporting the audience to her personal waypoint, on the Corniche in Beirut. The sea, in this particulart spot, functions as a magnet, drawing the artist as well as the crowds all year around: the vigour of its waves during the winter season, and the energy of swimmers playing in its still waters in summer.
The masterful combination of projections and mirrors create a hypnotic experience, adding to the affect generated by the soundscape of waves continuously washing off the rocky landscape.
N33° 54' - E35° 28' has been exhibited at Beirut Art Fair 2014 and Teal, London, 2013.
